UnitedHealth Group collaborated with national organizations to care for those who are caring for us by providing resources to meet their clinical, emotional and mental health needs. In addition, we accelerated claims and incentive payments, streamlined processes, and assisted the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in distributing emergency funding to providers seeking assistance under the CARES Act.
We partnered with the CDC Foundation, Direct Relief and the American Nurses Foundation to provide PPE and other support for front-line workers; and we organized employee volunteers to sew and donate 50,000 masks per day for health care workers.
We accelerated payments and support to health care providers to help with COVID-19 financial challenges with an initial tranche of $2 billion; and we assisted the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in processing/distributing a portion of the $100 billion CARES Act funding to providers.
