Improving behavioral health care for our nation’s youth

We are investing in programs and partnerships in 19 states and the District of Columbia, connecting over 32,000 young people and their families with care and services to increase access and improve behavioral health outcomes. Through the United Health Foundation’s partnership with Valle del Sol Community Health, mobile medical teams have provided care to middle and high school-age children in underserved communities throughout the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

Building and shaping the health workforce

Through a four-year, $4 million grant, UC San Diego School of Medicine launched the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inclusive Excellence Program (CAPIE), an innovative approach to building a more diverse child and adolescent psychiatry workforce.

Making a difference in communities around the world

We match employee contributions — dollar for dollar — to the eligible community organizations of their choice, and reward employee community volunteer service by awarding employees who volunteer 30 hours per year with a $500 grant to the community organizations of their choice.

"I volunteer with the Backpack Program every week. The program helps address food insecurity for more than 120 underserved students, providing them with snacks and breakfast over the weekend. Volunteering brings me joy. I enjoy helping those in need while strengthening my community. I am happy to work for a company that values service to one’s community as much as I do."
