Our Optum Insight business has combined with Change Healthcare to help create more effective and simpler experiences for consumers, payers and care providers while lowering costs across the health system.
The combined businesses are working to:
- Improve the quality of health care delivery by offering critical point of care insights aligned to evidence-based medical standards within the physician workflow.
- Simplify administration by fully automating claims transactions including editing in the EDI stream, improving claim accuracy.
- Reduce friction in the payment process by providing patient benefits and payment obligations at point of service and applying payment integrity edits upfront.
Clinical decision support
Our clinical decision support technology is helping clinicians access the tools they need to deliver best-practice care. Clinicians using our tools followed best practice guidance 98% of the time, compared to 72% without access to this support. In addition, the time clinicians spent to arrive at a decision was reduced by nearly 20%.
We are working to incorporate trusted artificial intelligence insights into our clinical decision support tools that provide more predictive capabilities, allowing clinicians to make the shift from detecting a problem to preventing it from happening in the first place.
