Why did you decide to pursue medicine as a career? 
Strong interest in science and physician role models/mentors in my younger years.

Had you not chosen medicine, what would you do? 
My dad was a mechanical engineer and wanted me to follow, but I did not like physics!

If you were to change medical specialties, what would you choose? 
Dermatology.

How is most of your time spent away from work? 
Currently watching college basketball, outdoor activities (walking/swimming), traveling.

Describe your perfect day off? 
A day at a nearby beach followed by winning at music trivia!

Tell me the best part about being a physician? 
Making a difference in someone’s life every day and helping my colleagues do the same.

What would you change about healthcare and the practice of medicine to make it work better? 
I would focus on “how can we make this a better process for our members”, while also increasing awareness and visibility of the many ways we contribute to positive patient outcomes through utilization management and prior authorization.
