Courtney Davis | Nurses Week Profile

What are your passions away from work?

“My passions outside of work include listening to music and reading.  I love to dive into a good book, paperback preferred.”

What does a day in your life look like at work?

"Constantly reviewing emails and teams chats while working and answering questions from my colleagues in which most times require a phone call or screen share, prepping and/or presenting cases in certain leadership rounds.  Assisting my manager with any specific needs that she may have of me for the day or accepting a difficult case that needs to be corrected being assigned to me.”

What is the best part of your job?

“The best part of my job is the collaborating and teamwork.  I love to be a part of collaborative assignments and work groups to create simplified and streamlined documents to assist ICMs in completing our jobs more efficiently."

How do you incorporate Quality and Patient Safety into your work?

“I start by ensuring that my cases are thoroughly scrubbed to prevent re-work.  I also ensure that I provide quality reviews.  When I’m not able to approve a case, I ensure that I provide the MD a thorough review to prevent them from having to search through clinical documents to find specific items pertinent to the case that could have been left out.”
