UnitedHealth Group Recognition

  • UnitedHealth Group is the top ranking company in the insurance and managed care sector on Fortune's 2016 "World's Most Admired Companies" list. This is the sixth straight year UnitedHealth Group ranked No. 1 overall in its sector and the seventh consecutive year the company ranked No. 1 in its sector for innovation.
  • Fortune magazine ranked UnitedHealth Group No. 6 in the 2016 rankings of the 500 largest U.S. corporations based on 2015 revenues.
  • Fortune magazine ranked UnitedHealth Group No. 17 on its 2016 Global 500, a list of the world's largest corporations based on 2015 revenues.
  • UnitedHealth Group was named to the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a blue chip group of 30 companies deemed industry leaders. (2012)
  • The Civic 50, a Points of Light initiative that highlights companies that improve the quality of life in the communities where they do business, ranked UnitedHealth Group first in the health care industry for the third consecutive year. (2016)
  • UnitedHealth Group has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones North America Index annually since 1999.
  • In the 2016 Newsweek Green Rankings, created in partnership with Corporate Knights Capital and HIP Investor, UnitedHealth Group ranked 20th out of the largest 500 U.S. companies in corporate sustainability and environmental impact.
  • The American Bar Association recognized UnitedHealth Group with its 2015 Pro Bono Award for demonstrating an exceptional commitment to providing pro bono legal services.
  • In 2016, for the sixth consecutive year, the National Business Group on Health honored UnitedHealth Group with a "Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles" top-tier Platinum award.
  • UnitedHealth Group was named a 2016 Top 100 Military Friendly Employer and a 2016 Top 50 Military Spouse Friendly Employer by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.
  • UnitedHealth Group was honored with the Above and Beyond Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (2016). The award distinguishes employers who have gone above and beyond the requirements for granting leave and providing support for military duty for their employees.
  • UnitedHealth Group has been named one of America's Outstanding Navy Reserve Employers for promoting a culture of pride in and recognition of Naval Reserve service. (2016)

  • Optum earned Frost & Sullivan's 2016 North America Company of the Year Award for the population health management market. Finalists for the award are required to demonstrate excellence in growth, innovation and leadership.
  • In 2016, for the second consecutive year, Optum ranked No. 1 on the Healthcare Informatics (HCI) 100, a listing of the top health care IT companies based on U.S. revenues.
  • Optum received three gold medals for exceptional customer service from ContactCenterWorld and the award for Best Outsourcing Provider from the International Customer Management Institute. (2016)
  • For the third consecutive year, Optum360 earned the No. 1 spot in the Black Book Rankings for revenue cycle management software technology and outsourcing services. (2016)
  • For the second consecutive year, Optum360 won the Category Leader award for computer-assisted coding from KLAS, a leading global health care research organization. (2016)
  • OptumRx earned the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute (PBMI) Excellence Award for BriovaLiveTM, the industry's first specialty pharmacy video consultation program. (2016)
  • At the 2016 American Business Awards, OptumRx received a bronze Stevie Award for Veteran Hiring.
  • The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation honored UnitedHealthcare with the Globe and Anchor Award for its support in providing needs-based scholarships to children of U.S. Marines. (2016)
  • Second Harvest Heartland, one of the nation's largest food banks, recognized Optum with a 2015 Hunger Hero Volunteer Award. The Hunger Hero Awards honor organizational partners who make a compassionate and transformational impact on those who are hungry in the heartland.
  • The Corporate Volunteerism Council of the Twin Cities recognized UnitedHealthcare with the 2015 Employee Engagement Award for its "Kick Senior Hunger" campaign. (2016)
  • The 2015 Best in Biz Awards recognized Health4Me - App of the Year; myClaims Manager - Consumer Service of the Year; Optum - Most Innovative Company of the Year; and hi HealthInnovations - Most Customer Friendly Company of the Year.
  • UnitedHealthcare's Baby Blocks mobile, interactive incentive program for expectant moms, new parents and their babies enrolled in UnitedHealthcare plans has received the following recognition:

  • UnitedHealthcare's Advocate4Me service model, which leverages innovative tools and technology to simplify and personalize care for members, received a Stevie award in the Sales & Customer Service category at the 2015 American Business Awards.
  • Brazil-based Amil received a Best Marketing Sustainability award in 2015 for "Say No to Childhood Obesity," its initiative to encourage physical activity and reeducate adults and children on dietary practices.
